Although Lutheran Campus Ministry at the University of Colorado Boulder is a non-profit organization that operates with its own board of directors, it is also part of a larger network. LCM is a ministry of the Rocky Mountain Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. LuMin – what used to be referred to as the Lutheran Campus Ministry Network – connects us with all the other Lutheran Campus Ministry organizations that operate at different colleges and universities across the US. The Lutheran Student Movement (LSM-USA) is what brings the students from these LCM organizations together. LSM-USA has a history of bringing reform to the broader ELCA, for example, LSM-USA became the first Lutheran organization to declare itself Reconciling in Christ.

Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is one of the largest Christian denominations in the United States. The ELCA is one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.

LuMin

LuMin is a network of inclusive faith communities on or near the campuses of over 230 colleges and universities across the United States. Rooted in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), we celebrate our identity while exploring partnerships with other traditions, and welcoming people from any faith background, or no faith background at all. LuMin engages students in activities, events and projects that help them grow and shape the world around them.

Lutheran Student Movement

Lutheran Student Movement - USA is an organization of college students across the US who have some connection to the Lutheran Church or Lutheran Campus Ministry. It formed in 1969 when two former Lutheran college organizations, the Lutheran Student Association of America and Gamma Delta merged to create LSM-USA while gathered in convention in Boulder, Colorado. LSM-USA is led by a council of 9 students, who are elected by the rest of the student body at the annual National Gathering. The council works with several staff advisors to plan and host the gathering each year over new years day.
